What’s the Problem?
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this recall affects the following vehicles:
- 2020 Ford EcoSport
- 2019-2020 Ford Transit Connect

These vehicles were sold with driver-side or passenger-side frontal airbag modules that are missing the first-stage booster propellant and sleeve. “Airbag modules missing the first-stage booster propellant will not deploy as intended in a crash, increasing the risk of injury,” NHTSA said.
Ford is notifying owners and dealers will replace the affected airbag module, free of charge.
This recall began in December 2020.
