What’s the Problem?

This recall affects AMX Global Portable Folding Stadium Seats sold under the BJ’s Wholesale or Black Sierra brand, according to a recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1.].

“AMX Global has received five reports of the security hook breaking, including two reports of falls and one injury involving bruising, headaches and a pinched nerve,” CPSC said.

The recalled BJ’s Stadium Folding Chairs have the “Berkley Jensen” logo on the back top side, and the Black Sierra units have a Black Sierra Equipment logo on the top, right front side.

Recalled Berkley Jensen seats have the date code “04/2022” on the white tag on the bottom of the seat. Recalled Black Sierra Equipment seats have the date codes “05/2022” or “11/2022” on the white tag on the bottom of the seat.

Affected Stadium Folding Chairs were sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club and Big 5 Corp stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from July 2022 through January 2024 for between $30 and $50.

If you purchased an AMX Global Portable Folding Stadium Seat that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and destroy it by cutting through the fabric of the seat and backrest. You should then take a photo of the destroyed recalled seat, including your initials and the date in the photo, and send the photo to AMX Global to receive a full refund.

This recall began on January 30, 2025.

The CPSC Recall Number for this item is 25-114.
