What's the Problem?
This recall affects all 2-, 4-, 8-, and 16-fluid-ounce amber glass bottles of Sun Essential Oils, Wintergreen sold prior to April 12, 2019, according to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).
Sun Essentials Wintergreen Oils contain methyl salicylate, which is harmful when swallowed and may cause severe liver/kidney damage or other serious side effects. The product was sold online from December 2014 to April 2019 for between $9 and $33.
CPSC's Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA) requires that products containing methyl salicylate must be sold in child-resistant packaging.
If you purchased any essential oils that are affected by this recall, you should put it out of the reach of children immediately and contact Sun Organics for a free replacement child-resistant cap.
