Albertsons Egg Recall: Salmonella Food Poisoning Lawyer

What’s the problem?

August 23, 2010 – Moark LLC of Fontana is pulling nearly 300,000 eggs sold under the Albertsons, Yucaipa Valley, Farmer’s Gems, and Mountain Dairy brand names.

The eggs were produced by two companies in Iowa – Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms. The two farms share suppliers for chicken and feed. Wright County Egg has been cited several times for safety and regulatory violations. The nationwide recall now includes more than a half billion eggs. So far, Salmonella poisoning has sickened around 1,300 people.

While some Albertsons brand eggs were impacted, the current recall by Wright County Egg does not affect the Albertsons Intermountain West area stores located in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and Utah.

According to the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Preventions (CDC), a person infected with the Salmonella Enteritidis bacterium usually has fever, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea beginning 12 to 72 hours after consuming a contaminated food or beverage.
