What’s the Problem?
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an impeller within the low pressure fuel pump may crack and deform, potentially causing Denso fuel pumps to fail. If the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Denso is notifying the affected vehicle and aftermarket equipment manufacturers who will conduct recalls as necessary to replace the fuel pumps. This recall began in May 2020.
