October 8, 2018 - The Facebook post was prompted by at least 2 separate dehumidifier fires that recently occurred in homes around Elk River, officials said. One of the two devices is part of a massive recall currently underway by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).

The Elk River Fire Department is also reminding everyone to check their smoke detectors, according to CBS Local [1]. They say that’s how one of the families was warned to get out of the house when their dehumidifier caught fire.
