What's the Problem?
This recall affects 400g plastic bottles of Radhuni Curry Powder made by New Hoque and Sons (expiration date 1/02/2022), according to the FDA Recall Notice [1].
The recalled curry powder was distributed from 4/17/20 to 4/21/20 to grocery stores in New York City, New York, Jamaica, NY, Jackson Heights, and the Bronx. Affected products were removed from the stores on 5/14/2020, FDA said.
The problem was discovered after routine testing by the FDA identified the presence of salmonella in samples of Radhuni Curry Powder. New Hoque and Sons, Inc., has discontinued production of the curry powder pending results of an investigation into the source of the contamination. This recall began on May 21, 2020.
