What’s the Problem?

This recall affects Cuisinart compact blender and juice extractor combos with model number CBJ-450, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission [1].

“The firm has received three reports of incidents in which the blender blade detached during use,” CPSC said. “In one of the incidents the blade perforated the blender container.”

The model number of the recalled Cuisinart blenders is printed on the label located on the bottom of the base and on the original packaging. The blades are stainless steel and have a black plastic center hub. The word “Cuisinart” is printed on the front and bottom of the compact blender and juice extractor combos.

The recalled Cuisinart blenders were sold online and at Crate & Barrel and other department, gourmet and specialty stores nationwide from November 2021 through August 2022 for about $80.

If you purchased a blender that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact Conair for a free replacement blade assembly. Consumers will receive instructions on how to install the replacement blade assembly after discarding the existing blade assembly, and after verifying disposal of the existing blade assembly.

This recall began on December 1, 2022.
