February 16, 2017 – According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) [1], Veggie Noodle Co. Butternut Spirals affected by this recall are packaged in a 10.7oz clear plastic container with a UPC Code of 852287006059. An “Enjoy By” date of Feb. 23, 2017 is printed on the side of the packaging.
Recalled butternut spirals were distributed to Whole Foods Markets and other retailers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin. If you purchased any items affected by this recall you should discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a full refund.
To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
Listeria Infection Symptoms
Listeria infection, or listeriosis, mainly affects pregnant women, newborns, the elderly, and adults with compromised immune systems. However, in some cases patients without these risk factors may develop the infection. Symptoms of listeriosis include:
