What’s the Problem?
According to a Recall Notice by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), this recall affects:
- Blendtopia Glow Superfood Smoothie Kits
- Blendtopia Detox Superfood Smoothie Kits
- Blendtopia Energy Superfood Smoothie Kits
- Blendtopia Immunity Superfood Smoothie Kits
- Blendtopia Strength Superfood Smoothie Kits
All of the recalled smoothies were sold in 7-ounce packages, which are labeled “Best By July 2021, Best By Oct 2021, and Best By Nov 2021”. The products were distributed nationwide, and are sold through select retailers and through online sales, FDA said.
Blendtopia Products, LLC, discovered the problem through its routine quality control processes. The listeria contamination is believed to be isolated to a supplied ingredient, which is also being recalled as a precautionary measure.
