What's the Problem?
This recall affects the Front Rack with a Bamboo Tray for Cycling Sports Group Cannondale Treadwell bicycles, according to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) [1].
"Cycling Sports Group has received reports of two incidents of the tray detaching and contacting the bicycle wheel," CPSC said. "One resulting in a fall involving minor cuts and bruises, and the other involving both bruising and a concussion."
Affected bike racks feature a black metal frame and a bamboo tray. “ISO11243:2016 YUENI MAX 10KG” is printed on the bamboo tray.
The recalled bike racks were sold at Cannondale dealers nationwide from April 2019 through June 2020. The front racks were included as original equipment on some bicycles; on other bikes, the front racks were sold separately as ad-on equipment.
If you purchased a rack that is affected by this recall, you should stop riding the bicycle and contact your local Cannondale dealer or Cycling Sports Group for a free repair.
This recall began on September 9, 2020.
