What’s the Problem?
This recall affects Audi Q3 SUVs from model year 2019, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The passenger airbag on affected vehicles may not properly deploy through the instrument panel tear seam, NHTSA said. If a crash occurs, the passenger airbag may not properly deploy and inflate, and small plastic parts may enter the cabin, increasing the risk of injury.
Volkswagen is notifying owners and dealers will inspect the instrument panel and replace it, free of charge. This recall began on June 10, 2020.
