What’s the Problem?

This recall affects 2 lb. plastic jars of “Alqosh Sesame Oil,” lot # 16082020 and production date 08/16/2020, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) [1].

The recalled sesame oil was distributed in Michigan retail stores and distributors from 11/06/2020 to 12/10/2020.

Mediterranean Food Inc. initiated this recall after routine testing by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) identified the presence of salmonella in select 2 Lb plastic jars of the company’s Alqosh Sesame Oil.

Production of the recalled Alqosh sesame oil has been suspended while FDA and Mediterranean Food Inc. investigate the source of the problem.

If you purchased any sesame oil that is affected by this recall, you should either throw it away or return it to the point of purchase for a refund.
