Nationwide Yucaipa Valley Egg Recall

In conjunction with the national egg recall currently underway around the country, Yucaipa Valley is now recalling dozen large egg cartons with Plant ID#1156 & Julian date 187. Initially, FDA found out that the eggs came from an Italian company Wright County Egg located in Iowa. Eggs affected by this recall were distributed to food wholesalers, distribution centers and foodservice companies in California, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. These companies, in turn, distribute nationwide.

Precautions to take before eating eggs

The public is being advised to take the necessary precautions in eating eggs. If you cannot pass on eating eggs, please take note of the affected egg brands together with their Julian dates and plant numbers to avoid salmonella contamination. Salmonella is a type of bacteria which can cause illnesses such as typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, and the foodborne illness salmonellosis. Salmonella symptoms include diarrhea, fever, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.
