Troy-Bilt Log Splitter Recall Lawsuit
On December 10, 2009 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in association with MTD Products Inc. issued a nationwide recall of Troy-Bilt Log Splitters.
If you or somebody you know has been injured or suffered an economic loss from a Troy-Bilt Log Splitter, you should contact our law firm immediately. You may be entitled to compensation and our lawyers can help.
What’s the problem?
Approximately 26,000 Log Splitters were recalled because the control handle of the log splitter could fail to automatically return to the neutral position as it should and could fail to stop the splitting wedge from moving forward, posing a risk of amputation to consumers’ hands and fingers. According to the CPSC, MTD Products has not received any reports of incidents or injuries.
The recall involves Troy-Bilt Log Splitters marked with model numbers 24BF572B766, 24AD597D766, 24BF572B711, 24BF572B766, 24AD597D766, or 24AD597D711. The model number is located on the frame near the engine. Log splitters manufactured from November 2008 through October 2009 are included in this recall.
The Troy-Bilt Log Splitter was sold at Lowe’s, independent dealers, and various hardware stores nationwide and manufactured in United States.
