June 12, 2012 – The second day of Jerry Sandusky’s child sex abuse trial got underway this morning with tearful testimony from a witness known so far only as ‘Victim 1,’ a teenager whose mother’s complaints sparked a grand jury investigation. The trial’s second witness to testify, the young man cried as he described to jurors how the former Penn State assistant football coach performed explicit sex acts on him after meeting him through The Second Mile, a charitable organization Sandusky founded in 1977. According to the grand jury report on the case, Victim 1 met Sandusky in 2005 or 2005, when he was 11 or 12 years old.

Sandusky, a 68-year-old retired defense coach who was once considered to be next in line to take over Paterno’s job, showed little emotion as he was found guilty of 45 of 48 counts. Jerry Sandusky Sexual Abuse Update 6/13/12: Taking the stand for the first time on Tuesday, former Penn State assistant football coach Mike McQueary told jurors that he saw Jerry Sandusky naked in a locker room shower engaging in explicit sex acts with a prepubescent boy about 10 years ago. What’s the problem?
Victim 1, who is now 18 years old, choked back tears as he spoke of an encounter that included Sandusky fondling and kissing him, and ultimately engaging in oral sex.
“After kissing my forehead and cheek, he moved to my lips,” the witness said. “He kissed my lips, then he moved to my back again… Then he started to rub underneath my shorts. I spaced. I didn’t know what to do with all the thoughts running through my head, I just kind of blacked out and didn’t want it to happen. I froze.”
The young man went on to tell the grand jury that he began spending the night in a basement bedroom at Sandusky’s house in 2007, and that the coach would come into the room at bedtime to “crack his back.” This scenario allegedly led to Sandusky performing fellatio on the boy more than 20 times between 2007 and 2008.
Meanwhile, former Penn State assistant football coach Mike McQueary and Victim 5 have been scheduled to testify tomorrow, but they will likely not testify until Thursday.
