Posted in: Non Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy, Cialis

Cialis (tadalafil) has been linked by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to a serious eye disorder called Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy or NAION.

The FDA is advising patients to “Stop using Cialis if you have a loss in your eyesight. Get medical help right away.”

Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy is a medical condition in which an individual experiences a loss of vision due to blocked blood flow affecting the optic nerve. This blockage can result in permanent damage to the optic nerve and can cause vision loss in one or both eyes. Commonly called a stroke of the eye, NAION affects nearly 8,000 individuals in the United States annually.
