On June 30, 2005, the US Food & Drug Administration released a public health safety advisory, which referenced several scientific publications suggesting that there is the possibility of an increased risk for suicidal behavior in adults who are being treated with antidepressant medications.
Again in July 2005, the FDA released another public health safety advisory warning that the increased risk of “Suicidal Thoughts or Actions” pertained to both adults and children taking the following antidepressants:
