Bextra is in a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Bextra works by reducing substances in the body that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. Bextra is used to reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis and adult rheumatoid arthritis. Bextra is also used to treat painful menstruation.
In addition, on 4/7/05 the Food & Drug Administration asked Pfizer, the manufacturer of the Bextra drug, to recall the popular pain medication from shelves across the U.S. due to risks of serious life-threatening side effects including heart attacks, strokes and stevens johnson syndrome in patients.
If you or a loved one have taken Bextra and suffered from Stevens Johnson Syndrome, you should contact us immediately. You may be entitled to compensation and we can help.
