Unfortunately, many Americans are still to this day suffering from the serious, life-threatening side effects of Fen Phen containing diet drugs and being diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH), also known as Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) or Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (IPAH).
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH), also known as Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) or Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (IPAH) is a serious, life-threatening disease that has been on the rise in the United States since the popular use of diet drugs in the 1990’s.
PAH has been directly associated with the usage of Fen Phen, Pondimin, Redux, Phenylpropanolamine, Ephedra and St John’s Wort.
If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with PAH, PPH or IPAH you should contact us immediately. You may be entitled to compensation and we can help.
In the 1990’s, Fen Phen containing diet drugs like Pondimin and Redux were hailed as miracle pills for obesity … these diet pills were presented as an alternative to pure diet and exercise. Diet centers and doctors actively promoted the pills to the obese and even to people who wanted to lose just a few pounds.
But in September 1997, American Home Products, now known as Wyeth removed the drugs from the market at the request of the Food and Drug Administration after studies linked them to heart valve damage, valvular heart disease and/or pulmonary hypertension.
Fortunately, Fen-phen is no longer widely available.
