Frozen Hamburger Patty Meat Recall Lawsuit

Two Separate Nationwide Recalls Totaling Approximately 22.5 Million Pounds of Ground Beef Products

In one of the largest meat recalls ever,Topps Meat Company, LLC, Cargill Meat Solutions& Blue Ribbon Meats have voluntarily recalled over 22.5 million pounds of frozen ground beef hamburger patties. The were recalled after the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service confirmed E. coli O157:H7 contamination in various branded Topps and Cargill products.

If you feel that you, your child or someone you know has been sickened by one of the frozen hamburger patties included within this recall, you should seek professional medical attention immediately by visiting your doctor of by dialing 911.

The following products were included in the Sept. 29 expanded recall and bear the establishment number “Est. 5712” inside the USDA mark of inspection and “9748” on a sticker or inkjet printed on the back panel of the package as well as a sell-by date between “SEP 25 07” and “SEP 25 08.”

The products subject to the original and expanded recall bear the establishment number “Est. 9748” inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as a sell-by date between “SEP 25 07” and “SEP 25 08.” These products include:

The frozen ground beef patties were produced on various dates from Aug. 9 through Aug. 17, 2007, and were distributed to retail establishments, restaurants and institutions nationwide. Each label bears the establishment number "Est. 924A" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

• 6-pound boxes of "American Chef's Selection Angus Beef Patties 18-1/3 Pound Patties." Each package bears a case code of "7703100" and various package codes of Best If Used By dates of "02/05/08," "02/06/08," "02/12/08," and "02/13/08."
